Renting a storage unit for the first time can be confusing. Add to this the different terminology, processes, and requirements thrown in by different storage companies and it can easily become overwhelming. We’ve tried to make our process as simple as possible, however, here are a few of the most common questions we get for your convenience.

What size storage units are available to select from?

Big or small, A-One Storage offers a variety of affordable storage sizes for all of your needs:

  • 10′ x 30′

What is the cost?

A-One Storage offers affordable storage units great for any budget. Our pricing is dependant on the size of unit you select and is due on the first day of each month. You’ll also need to pay a $20 refundable deposit when you pick up your keys.

Do you offer weekly rates?

To keep our fees as low as possible for everyone, our minimum rental fee is one month, however, you are certainly welcome to use a unit for only the week(s) you require.

Do you require a long-term contract?

We understand your storage needs change and are difficult to predict a year down the road. However, many storage companies lock you into a long-term contract that is often hard to get out of. For over 20 years, we’ve proudly offered month-to-month storage options without any long-term commitment requirements or other gimmicks.

Do you require a deposit?

We require a refundable deposit of $20 when you pick up your lock and keys. Our deposit requirement helps keep our storage fees as low as possible for everyone and allows us to avoid the lengthy contracts required by most storage companies. Just drop us a note at least 10 days before you intend to leave, make sure your unit is thoroughly cleaned out (don’t forget to return your lock and keys) and we’ll be glad to fully refund your deposit.

Do you offer refunds?

Because of the nature of our business, we are not able to refund rent paid in advance in some situations (like moving out before the end of the month). However, should you ever have a concern with your services, please contact us and we’ll do everything in our ability to make it right. Our storage services are only successful when we do right by our clients.

Can you keep my credit card number on file for payments?

Due to regulations dealing with how companies storage customer payment information, we are unable to keep your credit card number or other sensitive information on file. This is for your security and to prevent your information from falling into the wrong hands. We do however have a great service on our website that allows you to sign up for automated payments which can be drafted from your card automatically every month. Automatic payments can be canceled at any time.

Do you offer online or automatic payments?

Absolutely. Our website allows you to easily make a payment at any time, and you can even sign up for automated payments so that your unit is paid without ever lifting a finger. You’ll never have to worry about licking a stamp or added late fees.

Do you offer after-hour service?

Absolutely. We try to make our services as convenient for you as possible and that includes making ourselves available to fit your busy schedule. If you ever need help outside of our regular office hours, certainly do not hesitate to give us a call or send an email.

When can I access my storage unit?

Many storage companies in Hutchinson have inconvenient access hours or complicated gate rules under the guise of ‘added security’, however, all of our storage units are accessible around the clock without any restrictions.

Do you offer climate controlled storage units?

Many storage companies define climate control in different ways. It’s important to understand that A-One Storage units are not climate controlled to keep our costs as low as possible to you. Storing a grand piano, fine art, or an expensive wine collection? You may be better off looking for a storage service that offers temperature or even humidity controlled units, however for most everyday storage, you probably don’t really need climate control, which is often much more expensive.

Do you offer rodent & pest control?

Absolutely! The last thing you want to worry about is creepy crawlies or other critters ruining your personal belongings. We take great care to keep pests at bay, but can you believe most storage companies just look the other way?

What security precautions does A-One Storage utilize?

Your security and the security of your belongings is our top priority. That’s why we’ve gone to great lengths to make sure our facilities are well lit no matter when you need access to your belongings. We also employ some of the best security locks in the industry for your peace of mind. For over 20 years, we’ve been proud to say that we’ve never encountered a security issue at A-One Storage.

Be wary of storage companies that claim your belongings are safe just because they install a cheap chain-link fence around the property. To save money, these properties often install a perimeter fence and then skimp on important security and safety reinforcements, or better locks, for the units themselves. Those fences don’t provide much safety for your belongings, and they often make it more difficult for you to get out in the event someone targets YOU.

Can I use my own lock?

For your security and convenience, we provide you with a specialized lock at no cost. Unfortunately, you will not be able to use your own locks with our units.
